The greatest wines in the world always express not just a perfect balance and complexity of flavour, but also hold particular flavours unique to the land that produced them. At Shelmerdine our goal is to produce the best possible wines unique to the soil and climate of their origin.
Shelmerdine has two homes in Victoria - Heathcote and The Yarra Valley. It is in the Renowned Heathcote region that Shelmerdine has its Merindoc vineyard - a name synonymous with one of Victoria's most expressive Shiraz - The Merindoc Shiraz. Its sandy granite soil overlaying cracking limestone clay fosters a wine of rich, fine spiced plums and rose petals that flow on a bed of silk - a true expression of the beauty and intensity of our land. Standing next to this Wise and unmistakable prince of Heathcote are the noblest of subjects including our Riesling,Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Estate Shiraz, which all warrant their own admiration for the vigour and love they represent.
