The Vineyard The fruit for this wine is grown at our Lusatia Park Vineyard near Woori Yallock in the Upper Yarra Valley. The combination of a cool climate, deep, free draining red soil and fastidious viticulture produces grapes of deep concentration, purity and regional character. Vintage 2009 in the Yarra Valley was very warm and dry resulting in small yields of intensely flavoured grapes. The Winemaking Pinot Noir grapes were hand-harvested in early March and whole-bunch pressed with no sulphur dioxide or acid addition. The settled juice was then racked to seasoned French oak barriques from the forests of Troncais and Vosges and fermented with indigenous yeasts. At the completion of full malolactic fermentation, the wine was lightly fined, filtered and cold stabilised. The finished wine was bottled under screwcap in July 2009 in order to preserve the delicate fruit flavours. Technical Data Alcohol: 13.5%
